The film screenings use the power of film to highlight our responsibility to protect the Earth. We watch films that focus on ecological issues which are then followed by discussions that look at ways we can support the voices, projects and environmental initiatives particularly those raised by people of colour and Muslims.Art club creates a space for us to reflect on our relationship to nature and nourish it through creative outlets. The Ethical Art Club is a space to explore our connection with nature through creative expression to reflect on Allah’s signs for people to ground themselves and nourish their creativity and soul. Art club encompasses different forms of creativity through art, film and writing. Art club was started out of an intention to have people connect to nature creatively and experiment using elements of nature as their materials. Our writing workshops guide us to re-imagine and re-claim our space in nature as Muslims. The sessions are reflective and discussion-based sessions to write as a community and self reflect for a better understanding of our interconnecting identities.
