About the Event
Rajab is the month to plant the seeds of Ramadan, Shaban we water them and in the month of Ramadan we harvest.
Join us for our sowing seeds series as we honour this tradition of preparing the soil/soul for the blessed month of Ramadan. Each session is in preparation for our ‘Ethical Iftar Challenge’. Where we challenge ourselves to Eat Less Meat, Use less single use plastic and Reduce food waste.
This year Ramadan will be a time to nourish our inner and outer role of stewardship.

Saturday 13th March-Scraps and Green: Food Growing with Hafsa Hafeji
In this session Hafsa will guide us through the best seeds to plant in time to harvest for Ramadan, and ways to reduce our food waste by growing food from scraps’.
Saturday 20th March- Nourishing the soil: Composting with Rudy van der Aar
Get compost ready with a step by step guide to starting your own compost at home, join us as we learn the basics of using our food waste and scraps to create nourishing compost
Saturday 27th March- Live Vegan cook along with ‘Bruh u vegan’Join ‘Bruh u vegan’ for a live vegan cook along as we prepare to reduce our meat consumption in Ramadan. Get your ingredients ready as you are guided through cooking a delicious, wholesome and West African vegan meal.
Saturday 3rd April- Nature and Quran journaling with Sidrah MalikWe end the series with a reflective session introducing the art of creative journaling. Reusing recycled paper and materials to create beautiful pieces of reflections of the Quran.
A material and ingredient list will be sent out before each session for those that would like to join from home.
