Walking with the Land

South Downs Way Retreat

"The servants of the Lord of Mercy are those who walk humbly on the earth, and who, when the foolish address them, reply, ‘Peace’;"

Surah Furqan: V63

There are so many ways of journeying the land but from the Prophets to the pilgrims, walking has always been recognised as a honored way of journeying. Every step is an opportunity to be in a state of dhikr, to reflect and release, as we move towards an outer and inner destination. It is the slowest form of movement, giving us time to witness the ever-changing landscapes of the land with an awareness of our own internal journey that coincides. We are continually connected and rooted to the Earth as we journey with the Land.

Loved every single moment; praying, walking, praising, singing, laughing, crying, and reflecting together. The location, vibes, accommodation, and schedule were stunning! Ma sha Allah may Allah bless the GDT team. This retreat has really shifted something deep within me that I can't yet put into words. Alhamdulilah

This retreat is like no other. You learn so much about yourself through our teachers who skillfully manage the program effortlessly. This was such a revelation and done so simply. I learnt about things from a deep Islamic and Prophetic perspective which brought me so much closer to the Beloved SAW.  The environment was beautiful and the food was nourishing, wholesome and nutritious. This is an opportunity every woman should take, and a journey we must all take to improve ourselves and our relationship with Allah.

Mercy of the Womb Retreat 2020

"Words can not describe this incredible retreat, from the moment of arrival until we left, we were filled with an immense sense of sisterhood and love. We laughed, we cried, we meditated, we prayed, we sang, we ate, we reflected, we walked in nature, we persevered, we helped each other as one. We came as strangers and left as dear friends, with a light in our hearts and a spring in our step."
